French beans and IBS

I’ve decided to add french beans into my diet as I could do with some more variety in vegetables. I’m not sure if they are the same as green beans – anyone know?

I had some with dinner tonight as it was a really nice change to courgettes, brocolli and cauliflower! During my time off from the elimination diet I made a list of meals that I could eat and I’ve managed to come up with a fortnightly menu which isn’t too bad. I hope to have a monthly menu plan with a different meal each day so have variety as the number of different food items I can eat isn’t that great really.

I also want to look at the quantities of some of the foods I’ve tested to see if I can have them say once a month without it being a problem – so still lots to do but certainly well over main part.

Day 3

3 days of french beans and all is fine so finally I have another vegetable in my diet. I thought I would try onion powder tomorrow. The dietitian did say that the powder might be OK even if onion itself wasn’t. I suppose the powder isn’t so fibrous.

I think the only difference is the way the are cut. I don’t seem to have problems with them and I do eat them with many a meal.

Oh is that the difference! Well hopefully I’ll be OK with them too!
